| Kay
Posillico has been a psychotherapist providing counseling
and therapy for individuals, couples and families for over
twenty years. Kay`s experience in working with people from
all walks of life has given her a unique outlook on the
human condition and the complex nature of relationships.
She has recently opened the LIFE
CENTER COUNSELING & HEALTH SERVICES
in Huntington, New York.
Kay
earned a Masters Degree in Community Mental Health Counseling
at C. W. Post College on Long Island in 1980 and a Masters
in Social Work from Adelphi University in 1987. She also
earned a certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from
the New York School for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in
1990.
Many
of Kay`s clients are average people just trying to cope
with the stresses of 21st century life such as floundering
relationships, mid-life crisis and stress due to illness.
Kay also helps people deal with the effects of traumatic
life events such as death and divorce. She has particular
expertise in dealing with such issues as depression, anxiety,
transition, goal fulfillment, stress management, bereavement
and loss. She has extensive experience in both brief and
long term psychotherapy.
Kay
has a strong sense of commitment and a true enjoyment of
working with people. She has a history of community involvement
serving on various boards and committees. She is the vice
president of Transitional Services of Long Island for New
York, an organization which provides housing and services
for the homeless and mentally ill. As a therapist, Kay is
steady and perceptive with a direct, honest approach. She
provides a safe and empathic treatment environment to help
patients to maximize their potential and growth in treatment.
